The salt flats were still pretty empty in 1973. I was there to photograph the Sadd Teague and Bentley roadster, it is the red one in the middle, There were no tents, no workshop trucks, and just a few spectators when Al Teague drove #76 to a record 266mph. It was a great time to be there.
